Nike Basketball’s Greater Than series continues to hone in on the specific movements of athletes to inform the design of its footwear. The G.T. Jump was engineered for those who jump out the damn area; the G.T. Cut was tuned to fit those whose chief offensive strategy is footwork; the G.T. Run was created for those who cover baseline to baseline in the blink of an eye.
The newest member of the family is the Air Zoom G.T. Hustle 2, for those who rely on grit and effort to eke out their nightly stats. Recently debuted by the Nike EYB, the GT Hustle 2 features a full-length Zoom Strobel cushioning unit, a 3/4 cut height, and a somewhat throwback design direction only emphasized by the launch colorway. Inspired by 1997’s Air Zoom Talaria (one of the most iconic Zoom cushioned sneakers ever), this Air Zoom G.T. Hustle 2 makes use of the vibrant Cyber green in both a suede and canvas upper, whereas a white/black combination fills in the toe-box, heel, and ankle.
The outsole traction is comprised of a series of traction pods — larger at the toe and heel and smaller at the mid-foot.
A release date is currently unknown, although it is likely that these will launch sometime in September for $170.
