After months of rumors, the adidas YEEZY partnership is back on.
Neither the German sportswear brand nor Ye has confirmed the news, YEEZY MAFIA – longtime source of all things YEEZY – has shared the update via social media this morning.
Reports last week stated that adidas lost more than $440 million due to the termination of the YEEZY deal back in October 2022. The reinstated relationship is said to only pertain to the remaining adidas YEEZY inventory on which the Three Stripes had been sitting, which includes a YEEZY BOOST 350 “Pirate Black” re-release. The immediate terms are as follows, according to YEEZY MAFIA: part of proceeds from products sold will be donated to select international organizations; Ye will receive 15% commission from all goods sold.
adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden has been vocal about his esteem for the former “Kanye West,” so could a new long-term deal eventually take place? Maybe. If so, the deal could result in new footwear designs and the retail spaces Ye had once been promised. As always, time will reveal how things move along.
