Most often appearing alongside two-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson, the Nike Cosmic Unity has successfully carved out a demanding market for the brand’s first-ever basketball silhouette crafted using recycled materials. Beloved by the game’s taller players who bang down low on the block, the sustainability-minded model has been hell-bent on boasting one of the Beaverton brand’s most experimental offerings. Two years removed from its introduction, a first look at the model’s third iteration has just recently surfaced.
Continuing to push the envelope, the entirety of the mid-cut upper dawns a boastful array of tightly knit fabrics – indulging in a textile that can be constructed using a number of reused materials. Save the foam and nubuck layered tongue, the sidewall’s wavy ensemble mimics the Air Max 97’s layered overlays while employing a cast of earthy tones. Infusing notes of cream and light mocha at its base, muted pink accents flaunt across the ankle and miniaturized Swoosh while lime green shades anchor the presiding pull tabs, laces and embroidered accent along the forefoot. Returning to its staple Crater sole unit infused with full-length Zoom Strobel, a seldom wash of olive treats the serrated tread underfoot while an outdoorsy Nike motif centers along the insoles.
While we await further release details, enjoy a first look at the Nike Cosmic Unity 3 below in the meantime.
