The Nike Air Max Penny Is Cool And Calm With “Pure Platinum”

Alongside the collaborative aid of Social Status, Penny Hardaway’s Nike Air Max Penny has been privy to a raucous revitalization alongside the return of OG casts and hues. From the 90s-concocted pair’s iconic “Home”, “All-Star” and “Orlando” scheme, an unbeknownst greyscale composition extends over Hardaway’s first signature silhouette impersonating that of a 2005 release.

Mimicking the clad monochrome upper of its mid-2000s “Neutral Grey” effort, the silhouette’s mixture of leather, suede and mesh come dipped in a brightened color palette. Save the pair’s matching light grey overlay, lace loops and heel counter to that of its predecessor, the suede-treated base layer indulges in a crisp white anchoring, color-matched along its tongue, sock liner and thin nylon laces. Mirroring the latter silhouette’s continued use of blank white shades to envelop its enlarged midfoot overlay, an aged Air Bag unit in the heel proffers a closing homage to the 2005 pair while “Pure Platinum” accents adorn the jewel Swoosh and embroidered 1 Cent logo.
