It’s been almost an entire year since the unfortunate passing of Virgil Abloh. And though gone, the late designer’s influence can still be felt across fashion, art, and, of course, sneakers, with Nike soon to premiere a four-day experience dedicated to his design process. The event will also serve as the debut of Abloh’s newest posthumous release — the Off-White x Nike Air Terra Forma — which was just teased in a brand new, wheat-dressed colorway.
First leaked back in October, the Off-White x Nike Air Terra Forma is the first original sneaker to be released as part of the long-running partnership. Designed by both Nike designers as well as Virgil Abloh himself, the model expands upon the elements introduced by the luxury streetwear label’s Terra Kiger 5 as well as their most recent set of Air Force 1 Mids. The track spikes signature to both silhouettes return here, affixed underneath an imposingly large, Air Unit-cushioned sole unit. Above, the upper bridges the ethos of the Terra line-up with Off-White’s penchant for subtle deconstruction and overlaid text.
We should learn more about the Off-White x Nike Air Terra Forma leading up to the “The Codes” exhibit that’s scheduled to go down from December 1st through to December 4th at Miami’s Rubell Museum.
In other news, we recently sat down with UNDEFEATED to talk the inspiration of the Dunk High “Clerks.”
