Maharishi and Reebok aren’t strangers to one another, but the Hardy Blechman-founded imprint has yet to boast the expansive collaborative roster of other partners of the Massachusetts-based company. Recently, the British label teased an LT Court covered in hemp.
The Reebok LT Court is undeniably overshadowed by other basketball footwear styles from the 1980s and ’90s, but the silhouette has all the elements to become a popular option from the brand, in particular when considering current sneaker trends. Maharishi’s take exchanges traditional leather with eco-friendly hemp; drab olive accents complement the predominantly off-white upper. A yellowed midsole gives the decades-old low-top model an aged look that works well with Blechman and team’s usual military garb-reminiscent aesthetic.
“Hemp belongs to one of Earth’s most versatile, resilient, and advanced plant families, which makes it particularly meaningful to us as a medium for product creation,” explained Blechman in an official press release. “By utilizing hemp and a minimalistic design [on the LT Court], the piece stays true to both Maharishi and classic Reebok styling.”
Enjoy campaign imagery of the pair ahead, which features U.K jungle music legend Shy FX, and anticipate a launch via Maharishi on October 28th; the pair will drop via reebok.com and select fashion retailers on November 7th for the price of $120 USD.
