Salehe Bembury may still be figuring out the bot situation that’s plagued his Crocs Pollex Clog collaboration, but that hasn’t stopped the American designer from offering his widely-popular silhouette in new styles. The latest?: A “Kuwata” take dropping on October 22nd.
Unveiled on Instagram via a 3D-animated video, the newest member of the Salehe Bembury Crocs roster indulges in a cherry blossom-inspired pink tone (although the pair depicted in the aforementioned short and official images boast a darker salmon tone). Protection at the forefoot deviates from the remainder of the upper, working in-tandem with the hardware and strap that delivers function to the pair, as well as the semi-translucent, fingerprint-stylized tread underfoot to inject personality to the otherwise uniform proposition. Akin to Bembury’s past work with Crocs – and New Balance – the “Kuwata” colorway looks to the great outdoors for inspiration, further demonstrating the Los Angeles-based creative’s affinity for nature; promotional material for the upcoming release showcases an animated Bembury sketching the very shoe under a cherry blossom tree while he wears signature pieces from his own Spunge imprint.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, as you wait to try your luck via beaspunge.com on Saturday, October 22nd, for $85 USD.
