In honor of the Air Trainer 1‘s 35th Anniversary, Nike has brought out the Tinker Hatfield-designed classic in a number of styles both new and original. And just last month, the silhouette even resurfaced in the “Shima Shima” make-up from 2003, a year that seems to bear some influence on this upcoming “TYO 03” colorway.
Likely abbreviated from Tokyo 2003, “TYO 03” is featured across this pair twice-over: namely, along the hang tag as well as the stamp debossed into the heel. The colorway itself is predominantly comprised of neutrals, with white and black dyeing the shoe’s textured, reptile-like leathers. In addition, hits of purple are placed adjacent, placed across the vamp, eyelets, sockliner, and heel tab.
