The Nike Air Force 1 Mid has historically been the least celebrated trim of Bruce Kilgore’s iconic 1982 design, but it’s contributing handfuls of compelling colorways as part of its 40th anniversary celebration.
Seemingly part of a widespread Nike Sportswear Collection, a newly-surfaced style indulges in vibrant, spring-friendly tones across its suede and leather upper. Simple off-white sets the stage for panels clad in rich green, bold red, deep yellow and light pink, with each contrasting color claiming a fair amount of “real estate” atop the mid-top Air Force 1. While none of the colors are new to the model, their arrangement is, especially when coupled with the non-standard branding on the top of the semi-woven tongue. “NIKE AIR” text is adorned with plant imagery that also appears on the sock-liners; the shoes arrive with a porous carrying bag, which may be constructed from recycled materials. Nevertheless, the off-white midsole and “Light Gum Brown” tread combine for a tried-and-proven warm weather look that complements the multi-colored ensemble up top well.
Enjoy official images of the pair here below, and anticipate a Nike.com launch as spring and summer inches closer.
