The Jordan MA2 may not have topped any “Best of” lists since debuting in early 2021, but it’s cultivated a cult-like following for those unafraid (or unaware) of exploring footwear outside of Michael Jordan’s core lineup. Recently, the model appeared in a mix of “Dust” and “Game Royal” that suggests it has some shelf life left.
Exclusive to women, the non-Air Jordan proposition from NIKE, Inc. blends basketball heritage with performance-running design. Uppers are busy with a series of suede and synthetic panels, the former covering most of the top-half and boasting both aforementioned titular colors. “University Red” flair comes into the mix via the asymmetrical pull tab at the top of the tongue, as well as through the Jumpman logo printed onto the lateral side’s semi-translucent TPU detailing. Underfoot, an Air Max unit opts for a clean “Sail” look that doesn’t detract from the mostly “colorless” sole unit it accompanies. No inspiration behind the color palette has been disclosed, but it’s possible a patriotic approach was taken to designing the shoe, as several Team USA-exclusive styles have recently surfaced ahead of the Olympic Games Beijing 2022.
A stateside Nike.com launch hasn’t been revealed by the brand yet, but pairs have begun to hit its webstore across the Asia-Pacific region. In any case, enjoy official images of the pair here below.
