With clients the likes of Target, Hewlett Packard and Atlantic Records under her built, Brooklyn-based artist, Jordan Moss, has amassed a notable following. Recently, she’s participated in Nike’s Artist In Residence (A.I.R.) program, bringing her love of color to the Air Zoom Pegasus 38.
Akin to work produces by past participants of the initiative, Moss has been creative freedom on a number of running-related products. Dri-FIT gear, however, plays a supporting role to the Nike React and Zoom Air-cushioned footwear recently surfaced via official images. Unlike accompanying products, the sneakers forgo an all-over pattern in favor of a compelling use of primary colors. Breathable mesh and synthetic reinforcement across the latest Nike Pegasus‘ upper is divided between rich blue, green, red and yellow, with the most latter taking over profile swooshes. A floral gradient graphic is overlaid on the lateral heel, marking the only one of Moss’ illustrations to appear on the shoes. Elsewhere, however, the Pegasus 38 features both the artist’s name and her go-to “all ways always” mantra; the playful phrase appears on the medial midsole and sock-liner.
