Berlin’s Civilist and California’s Vans are no strangers to collaborative projects that celebrate skateboarding and the spaces that’ve allowed the sport to grow. For their latest joint-effort, both brands have joined forces to deliver three colorways of the Sk8-Low.
With the help of Carsten Fock, renowned for his fashion, pop culture and politics-inspired graphics and paintings, both global institutions have paid homage to Germany’s capital. All three options included in the capsule feature Fock’s pencil-drawn letters embroidered on the Sk8-Low’s suede upper: “SAY GOODBYE TO THE CITY” and “BACK TO THE ROOTS” messaging appear on the sidewall and sock-liner, respectively, while “I ONCE WAS IN BERLIN” makes its way onto the shoe box. Navy and black colorways will see a global launch, while the white style will be exclusive to Civilist outposts.
Enjoy product imagery for each pair here below. The collection will be available in-store at Civilist on Wednesday, July 28th, online at Civilist on July 29th and at select skate shops across the globe on July 30th.
