Currently in its 24th year on the market, the Nike Air Max 97 has historically been overshadowed by sone of its visible Air-cushioned counterparts (at least stateside). Throughout 2021, however, Christian Tresser’s design has appeared in a handful of compelling styles, with the latest one indulging in a “South Beach”-appropriate ensemble.
Akin to previously-seen options from the Swoosh inspired by Miami, namely the Nike LeBron 8 “South Beach”, the upcoming pair boasts vibrant pink and teal accents across its body. The most-bottom vamp overlays effectively divided the predominantly white sneaker with the two-tone punch, while branding at the mid-foot, tongue and spine also join in on the topical color palette. Underfoot, the full-length Air Max unit forgoes any color duo or gradient in favor of a uniform blue tone, delivering a makeup fitting of the “South Beach” moniker.
An official Nike.com release date hasn’t been confirmed, but this SoFlo-friendly pair is likely to launch soon. In the meantime, enjoy images of the shoes here below.
