Through the decades, Converse has relentlessly executed on their urge to evolve, offering progressive creations by way of both collaborations and inline initiatives. And while the Chuck 70 still claims the crown for the most iconic, the brand refuses to sit still — especially when the world is ready to take a step forward.
Soon, Converse will embark on their latest CX line-up, delivering reimagined versions of classics like the Weapon, Run Star Hike, and the aforementioned Chuck Taylor. What’s more, the series is to expand with a brand new silhouette: the futuristic Aeon Active CX. Each, though distinct in their aesthetic, innovates on fit, ride, and stride, every element supported by new materials and constructions.
What’s New
The Weapon CX iterates on legacy, its form tweaked and upgraded in a way that’s modern yet still faithful to the original. In its upper, the same is true of the Run Star Motion, though the tooling itself is far more engineered compared to the previous pair’s trail fittings. Adjacent, the Chuck Taylor All Star CX is reserved, only enhanced by stretch canvas, CX foam, and transparent foxing.
Finally, the Aeon Active CX rounds out the collection, breaking conventions with its stretch bootie and exaggerated heel kick. Easy to get in and out of, the model pairs CX foam with EVA foam underfoot, proffering “all-day comfort.” When it release Late 2021, it’ll do so alongside the revered Samuel Ross.
