With the rise in popularity of the Air Jordan 1 throughout the last three years, NIKE, Inc. has reevaluated how to treat Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker. In addition to high-profile collaborations and retros of original colorways, the North American company has modernized the sneaker, and made it (slightly) more accessible along the way.
In addition to FlyEase-equipped iterations, the Peter Moore-designed sneaker has also emerged in a “Zoom CMFT”-variant, which combines Zoom Air-cushioning underfoot with a robust exposed-foam arrangement at the collar and ankle. Furthermore, the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT commonly features much more breathable materials around the collar than leather, which pairs well with the cut-out swooshes for unprecedented airflow. Coupled with a bevy of non-original, vibrant colorways – “Team Red” leading the charge on the latest option to surface – this reinterpretation of the inaugural Air Jordan has blended heritage and forward-thinking design well.
An official Nike SNKRS release date hasn’t been disclosed. but this Jordan 1-variant is likely to launch before summer ends. In any case, enjoy images of the shoes here below.
Elsewhere under the NIKE, Inc. umbrella, the Nike LeBron 19 has recently been unveiled.
