For Jordan Brand, it wouldn’t be a proper year of “Rare Air” without Mike’s fourth signature model. Following a Jordan 1 set and rather underrated Jordan 3, the Jumpman’s ongoing “Rare Air” series is going back to its roots with a Jordan 4 on July 26th.
This year’s “Rare Air” Jordan 4 comes nearly two decades after the series began. In 2006, Jordan Brand took inspiration from early samples and factory defects with a “Tour Yellow” AJ4 featuring velcro tongue patches, allowing beholders to flip ’em upside down or remove them entirely. The 2025 “Rare Air” 4s maintain that same defining feature, but the rest of the sneaker is completely different. The bulk of the upper is cut from black nubuck, save for a suede toe overlay. Aligning well with the aforementioned “Rare Air” 3s, red and blue hits are scattered across the lining, heel, eyestays, and outsole. Importantly, only a quarter of all pairs produced feature gold “Rare Air” text under the tongue patch (as opposed to silver), meaning some are actually more rare than others. Of course, you won’t know which version you’ve got until they’re in your hands.
The Air Jordan 4 “Rare Air” is set to release July 26th in full family sizing, priced at $220 for adults. Return to our “Where To Buy” section below for a full store list on that date.
More immediately on our Jordan Release Dates calendar, the “Aqua” 8s drop July 19th.
