At long last, Nike finally has made public statements regarding one of the year’s most anticipated shoes–the Nike GT Future. After an initial debut during the 2025 All-Star Weekend and an unpredictable showcase of new colorways at the hands (or feet, rather) of Wale, the GT Future has built some higher-than-normal expectations from basketball fans ahead of the Holiday 2025 release.
The GT Future basketball shoe is a looker. Drawing comparisons to the Zoom Hyperflight of the early 2000s, this new iteration of the Greater Than series packs a high-performance punch that few sneakers can rival in Nike’s complete catalog of footwear. According to Ross Klein, Nike Basketball’s Design Director, the GT Future features a full-length Zoom Air strobel, an additional Zoom Air cushion at the fore-foot, and Cushlon 3.0. Altogether, his stacked trio offers a comfort performance package that no other Nike Basketball shoe offers at the moment.
In addition to the all-black colorway dropping this Holiday, Nike has officially revealed three more options for the final quarter of the year. It starts with the orange “Fire” (Bright Ceramic) colorway, followed by a stunning “Metallic Silver”, and a third in bright “Lightning” yellow. Several more GT Futures are expected in early 2026 as well.
As for the MSRP; Nike confirmed with Sneaker News back in February that the shoes would carry a $190 tag. However, given the company-wide price increases to battle the effects of tariffs, the MSRP could be higher (either $195 or even $200).
