As we’ve mentioned a few times in recent weeks, 2026 is poised to be a big year for 2000s-era Nike Basketball retros. Following news of an upcoming Nike Zoom Hyperflight run and Zoom Huarache 2k4 “All-Star” bring-back, we’re learning that the Foamposite Pro is taking on a “Gym Red/Black” colorway for Summer 2026.
The Foamposite Pro released in 1997, but we’re reminded of the model’s “Varsity Red” colorway from 2002 (as shown above and below). Nike then released a “University Red” Foamposite Pro of similar vein in 2016, although that pair differed with outlined Swoosh logos. Based on a known palette of “Gym Red/Black” as reported by sneakermarket.ro, we’re expecting next year’s release to feature the same general design.
This marks one of three Foamposite Pro colorways currently expected for 2026, joined by the model’s “University Blue” and black makeups. The model’s renewed push is actually set to begin a bit earlier though; “Pearl” and “Pine Green” retros are already on our Sneaker Release Dates calendar for Holiday 2025.
The Nike Foamposite Pro “Gym Red/Black” ($240) is slated release Summer 2026, putting its release window between next April-June. We’ll go live with another update once we get a first look.
