Comme des Garçons and its sub-lines closed out Paris Fashion Week SS26 with a complete arsenal of sneaker collaborations ready for early next year. Often relied on to usher back archival models (see: the Air Max Dolce from 2002), the Japanese label is partnering with its compatriot to bring back the the ASICS GEL-SD Lyte from the early 2010s.
With the refined tech runner continuing to trend, sneaker brands have been furiously reviewing its past catalogs to re-issue models that were afterthoughts for most of their existences. The GEL-SD Lyte is an all-purpose athletic trainer that never really a foothold, particularly with ASICS going hard with its late 80s/early 90s retro runners throughout the 2010s.
Worn on the Comme des Garçons SHIRT runway on the morning of June 28th, the ASICS GEL-SD Lyte has been revealed in its typical color-driven executions seen throughout its footwear collaboration history. Three primary tones of red, blue, and black are revealed with contrasting white bases, establishing that perfect early Spring low-intensity vibe.

Comme des Garçons SHIRT has to be credited with more than mere color-blocking; they’ve extended the outsole to scoop upwards into the toe to create a new feature. The original model shared a similar design, butthe rubber outsoles didn’t connect.
Again, the Comme des Garçons SHIRT x ASICS GEL-SD Lyte is expected to launch SS26, so stay tuned for updates and additional photos.
