There’s no denying that the Nike Book 1 PE strategy has been a boon for the silhouette, keeping the model in the consciousness even during lulls in its release calendar and tacitly promoting pairs that’d eventually hit the public, including the “All-Star ’96,” “Moss Point,” “Forrest Gump,” and “Mowabb.” The latter two pairs are the most illustrative for the one at hand, with official images of the Nike Book 1 “Neon” now surfacing.
Indeed, this shoe is a product of the referential PE run that the silhouette went on its in its earliest days, leveraging the vast Nike archives to spin off iconic colorways on Devin’s signature. With the original PE version eliciting pretty serious attention in its debut, many of the overtones here are expected; volt outsoles and Swooshes, a knit grey base, and black mudguards and heel cup.
Yet there are a few subtle changes from that prototype build to this general release; An embroidered mini Swoosh at the forefoot and a spin on the “Airmax” logo that instead spotlight’s the “Book” moniker. Finally, a crucial detail for dedicated fans of the model, this does hold onto the multi-ply “pages” heel tab at the very rear of the design.
The Nike Book 1 “Neon” remains on track for a September release. Be ready for a $140 retail price once landed and keep our Sneaker Release Dates page within reach for more info as the launch nears.
