The Nike Pegasus Wave Chops Down A “Fir” Colorway

A dual-tone look for the "gorpcore" retro runner.

The Nike Pegasus Wave Chops Down A “Fir” Colorway

The Nike Pegasus 2K5 has been a much needed success story for the Beaverton brand, but what about the Pegasus Wave? The reinforced “gorpcore” version of the 2K5 has been on the market for almost a full year now, but it doesn’t appear there’s much demand from where we’re sitting. In any case, the model is continuing its run with a “Fir/Black” colorway for Fall 2025.

Bright, striking gradients have been a part of the Pegasus Wave playbook thus far, but not here. The upper comes in green “Fir” with black accents, while the two colors are flipped in their use underfoot. Notably, the model’s leather underlays here add intrigue with a subtle sparky finish. The Pegasus Wave delivers some major heft with a TPU cage and reinforced zones around the forefoot and heel, drastically overhauling the aesthetic of its parent in the 2K5.

The Nike Pegasus Wave “Fir/Black” is expected to release Fall 2025 (between July-September) in men’s sizes. The model now retails for $170 due to the recent Nike price increases; see official images below if you’re considering copping.
