Nike SB has been honoring its roots with “Pro B” Dunks inspired by the era before the start of the sub-brand, but are they resonating? The “Parachute Beige” and “Pale Ivory” colorways sat on shelves and are currently going for under retail on aftermarket sites, hinting that nostalgia-driven buys might be lacking. Perhaps that might change upon the arrival of this “Sequoia” colorway; another neutral option set to release in July.
As was true for the earlier set of “Pro B” Dunks, the sneaker features a full suede upper with the exception of a mesh collar. A light sage green hue paints the midsole, while brown gum soles round out all the major elements underfoot. There are two main vintage-inspired qualities to note; thick flat laces and white tongue tags featuring muted “SB” text. As sneaker historians are aware, “Pro B” was the name given to skateboarding Dunks before Nike SB was officially formed in 2002. Once the sub-brand was established, the model was updated with Zoom Air insoles (and Nike SB branding, of course).
The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro B “Sequoia” is scheduled to hit SNKRS on July 26th, meaning a skate shop release should occur a week prior. Enjoy official images below and visit our Sneaker Release Dates hub to preview more upcoming Nikes.
