Jack Harlow’s Next New Balance Collaboration Is The 442 Indoor Soccer Shoe

A second step with deep ties to Harlow's adolescence.

Jack Harlow’s Next New Balance Collaboration Is The 442 Indoor Soccer Shoe

Putting on for Kentucky is always a primary directive for Jack Harlow. While his New Balance 1906R “Rose Runner” seemingly didn’t carry any weighty inspirations from the Bluegrass State, he made sure to center it during its rollout, ensuring natives got first dibs on the pair by launching at KY’s Oneness Boutique. Half a year after that debut project, he’s once again returning to his roots, pulling from his alma mater to light the Jack Harlow x New Balance 442.

Shared with the simple profession that he “designed an indoor soccer shoe,” the 442 builds off of the quilted, paneled upper of a bonafide cleat style that’s been a staple of the brand’s performance line for some time. This layout is functionally a lifestyle reimagining of its Turf variation, tacking a gum sole with herringbone traction in place of its studded original hardware. The colors of JM Atherton High School, Harlow’s former stomping grounds and the institution he suited up for on the soccer field, imbue the new proposition with golden and burgundy accents throughout. All told, it seems far likelier that this is a collaborative colorway rather than a collaborative silhouette.

In closing, Jackman adds some additional nods to his hometown in the margins. Given the on-pitch aesthetics, the number 80 emblazoned on the tongue seems to point to the number he donned during his youth soccer career, itself derived from Harlow’s affinity for Ronaldinho, a fandom he’s made plain in the past. The insoles also depict a section of Louisville in nearby Tyler Park.

With this social media announcement providing our first look at the shoe, release details are understandably scant. Keep an eye on this article and our Sneaker Release Dates tracker for additional info as it comes to light. For now, check out all the current angles of the Jack Harlow New Balance 442 below.
