The Jordan MVP 92 Wears Split “Anthracite”

New construction allows for some bolder aesthetic choices.

The Jordan MVP 92 Wears Split “Anthracite”

Beaverton reimagining the construction of one of its stable of retro icons isn’t reason enough to stop the presses. However, the pre-release intrigue for the Jordan MVP 92 does rise above the level of your typical hybrid offering, switching from a reported “Jordan 7 RM” moniker and shifting expectations for itself and the wider offshoot Jordan roster in the process. As the Jordan MVP 92 introduction nears closer, new colorway options like “Anthracite” continue to provide a window into what we can expect once it’s available.

The initial two-pack that brought the shoe to the newswire included a tacit “Raptors” homage, but subsequent looks at the Jordan MVP 92 reveal that the Jumpman is letting the silhouette speak for itself rather than rely on already-established colorways. Such is the case for this all-grey affair; it’s possible to compare this shoe to similar neutral-heavy editions like the “Barcelona” or “Flint,” but the diagonally shorn color-blocking creates enough distance for this to be regarded as its own concept entirely.

With the Jordan MVP 92 set to debut sometime during the Summer/Fall season, expect this “Anthracite” to be among the lead-off options. MSRP for the burgeoning silhouette remains at $140.
