The influence of soccer into everyday fashion isn’t a new phenomenon, nor is Nike remodeling some of its most beloved silhouettes to meet its growing influence. Perhaps following in the footsteps of adidas’ LT Samba releases, the Swoosh has brought extended tongue treatments to models like the Air Max Plus, Killshot, and Cortez in recent months, now marking off the first repeat effort with the Cortez Tiempo in black and gum.
First seen in a metallic silver do-up alongside the similarly reimagined Killshot, the broadest strokes of the release remain in this palette swap. Aesthetically, this pair picks up timeless combination that Nike has leaned out in both soccer styles and their lifestyle rehashings: the Tiempo ’94 Trainer, Tiempo Legend V, Gato, and Tiempo X have all met this colorway. Compositionally, the plush leather treatments with curvilinear double-stitched panels remain, the latter a question of stability on performance wear but simply an aesthetic choice in this lifestyle application. Finally, note that the central design feature isn’t a longer tongue, it’s closer to a double tongue, functionally a detachable lace shroud that you can pick off if you’d rather embrace the street rather than the pitch.
The Nike Corteiz SE “Tiempo” lands as a part of the Swoosh’s Fall 2025 efforts, retailing for $100. Keep our Sneaker Release Dates landing page within reach for further updates. In the meantime, feel free to peruse the official set of images included below.
Elsewhere in Beaverton, the Nike Air Force 1 “Dirty Triple White” is quickly becoming one of the brand’s most viral releases of 2025.
