We’re well past a full year of the Shox retro, filling out Nike.com will plentiful looks for the Shox R4, Shox TL, and the newest entry, the Shox Ride 2. With that bounty of colorways already in the books, Beaverton designers are beginning to let their hair down when it comes to successive editions, marking off a suede overhaul of the Shox TL for their latest play.

Seen here taking over the wavy quarter panel that dips right up to the midsole, there’s an evident elevation that comes with it, only bolstered by the choice of rich brown tones for this pair. Unexpectedly, neon green pokes through that refined profile, evidence of another aesthetic wave that the Swoosh is currently riding. Seen on the Vomero 5, the Shox TL, and the Pegasus Wave, Nike is heavily pushing those assorted “Green Strike” and “Barely Volt” tones for the Summer season — so maybe this piston-powered pair will be your chance to get in on their seasonal pantone.
