Jordan has tangibly backed up its efforts to expand the global reach of basketball with a number of commemorative capsules, now standing at a healthy crop of yearly drop-offs to fulfill that purpose. Following first looks at some of the lifestyle and hoops performance members of this year’s Dongdan collection, its crown jewel is revealed via the Air Jordan 13 Low.

The Air Jordan 13 Low “Dongdan” releases in the Summer 2025 window, likely remaining a China exclusive once it does appear. Be ready for a $200 retail price (or equivalent) upon arrival. Keep our Jordan Release Dates page nearby for additional updates.

Detailed Breakdown Of The Air Jordan 13 Low “Dongdan”

In contrast to the vibrant editions that’ve filled out previous “Dongdan” chapters, this Air Jordan 13 Low and its corresponding pack members ahve shifted towards more neutral fare, likely reflecting the nature that surrounds the courts themselves in Beijing. While the “Oatmeal” swatches at the suede base layer and hits of additional earth tones across the pocked quarter panel and midsole pods help achieve that, but the standout design feature is the woody pattern at the rear, capitalizing on a near marble pattern that coats the interior and creeps out to surround the collar. A dose of co-branded details round out the shoe, from the circular Dongdan emblem on the left tongue and to the motto-heavy patches on its reverse, reading “In One’s Element | Beijing China” and its Hanzi transliteration on the other pair.

More generally, the appearance of the Air Jordan 13 Low is notable in and of itself, dropping off its last two steps in 2021 — you’d have to venture all the way back to 2018 to find any previous colorways. Looking at the history of this series, however, blunts the surprise; each of the previous Retros that entered the canon used their low build to do so (see the Jordan 6 in 2021 and Jordan 5 in 2023.)

History Of The “Dongdan” Series

First introduced in the collection in 2021 that spanned the AJ6 Low, Jordan 35 Low, and the Hydro Slide, the “Dongdan” series pays homage to one of the icons of Chinese basketball, the “Sunset” Dongdan streetball tournment hosted in Beijing. Naturally, the dusk-til-dawn setting is often the jumping off point for each year’s visitation, though given the sheer number of product let loose under the banner, sometimes the Jumpman has taken a left turn from that more straightforward inspiration. Regardless of the colorways on tap, almost every pair dropped under the banner will bear the blended basketball and Hanzi logo here seen on the tongue.

While Jordan Brand is liable to mint additional colorways, the Air Jordan 13 Low “Dongdan” is joined in 2025 by the Air Jordan 1 Low and Jordan Legacy 312 Low of the same name. Simply drawing from past releases, one of the Jordan Brand signature series would be the most likely addition.
