On top of flexing one of the most significant rolodexes in the game when it comes to brands, Salehe Bembury is constantly displaying his close bonds to fellow designers. The foremost pathway to do so is his “Art Friends, Thumbs Up, Good Job” series, allowing his peers to take over his signature Crocs Pollex Clog with wild, experimental do-ups of the breakout model. After teasing the next step, Nina Chanel Abney and Bembury are officially revealing their joint Crocs Pollex Clog, releasing at the end of the month.
As alluded to in our title, Nina Chanel Abney utilizes an alternating checkered pattern across her Pollex Clog, clad in straightforward geometry on the right shoe before shifting into a rounded face print on the left that compares to her pieces like “Wrath” or “R&R.” Beige paint flecks creep onto the top of each shoe, while she plants a fitting pink matter swatch over the big toe and under the heel. To close out, an initialized co-branding stamp pops up just under the rear strap, visual confirmation of the “NCA” influence on display.
As with most of the previous “Art Friends, Thumbs Up, Good Job” editions, the Salehe Bembury x Nina Chanel Abney x Crocs Pollex Clog will be a limited affair, with just 1000 pairs coming to the public. They’ll arrive on April 30th at 9AM PST via Bembury’s beaspunge.com site. While no retail pricing is included in this official announcement, expect something in the $95 range, the sticker price for other Pollex releases.
