Daiki Suzuki’s Engineered Garments has built a reputation of bringing an off-kilter experience to American and British workwear, providing an edge with screwed-with classics. Some may not view EG as a household name yet, but it’s one of the more sought-after brands in regards to the collaborative experience, working closely with the likes of Uniqlo, Red Wing, J. Crew, Reebok and more in the past.
On May 2nd, they’ll be dropping their third project with Reebok, the Instapump Fury ’94. Ushering in a sharp brogue-inspired aesthetic to the high-tech runner, Engineered Garments strips the silhouette of its technical essence, dropping the Pump and the connected gas bladder for a more streamlined look. The edges of the overlay features ornate perforations and stitching to mimic the classic all-leather wing-tip oxford dress shoe, emanating their vision of tradition gone askew.
Both pairs are dropping on 5/2 for $250 apiece; find them on Reebok.com and Engineered Garments’ as well as tehir retail outpost Nepenthes in NYC, London, LA, and Japan.
