The New Balance 550 Golf Gets Two New Colorways For The Masters

The once-basketball model heads to the fairway.

You really couldn’t have scripted the 2025 Masters any better, capping off with Rory McIlroy completing a Grand Slam title 14 years in the making, following only the fourth sudden death playoff hole over that span. With golf retaining status as one of the fastest growing sports, getting such a spotlight almost assuredly will lead to a further rise — New Balance is tapping into that with two new looks for the New Balance 550 Golf.

First introduced around this time in 2024, one half of this mini-capsule continues the themes began with that debut, holding onto the vintage-soaked aged detailing and the “Green Jacket” overtones via leather caps at either extreme and a swatch underneath the collar. For the other pair, white-on-white is the choice, leaning into the classic composition that’s carried golf footwear for years.

Though other brands’ embrace of the sport have utilized pointed (literal) retreads, NB’s take instead reimagines the 550 outsole without spikes, instead leveraging N-Durance rubber to achieve the same grip. Finally, to ensure performance in any climate, waterproof materials are utilized comprehensively, a tangible cap to the “New Balance Golf” promise seen on the tongue tag.
