Give credit where credit is due. It would have been incredibly easy for Jordan Brand to leverage successful Air Jordan 4 colorways for the Jordan 4 RM. Instead, the Nigel Sylvester backed silhouette has carved out a home base in its own right with pastel looks, continuing to dot the newswire as the S/S marches on. That said, sometimes the hits are hits for a reason, easily identifiable with the Jordan 4 RM “Fire Red.”
We likely don’t need to unspool the inspirations at play given the shoe’s title, falling into a long lineage of Bulls-shaded Jordan 4s branching from the iconic OG. However, though the name makes a comparison to the ‘89 edition the most obvious, in truth the color-blocking used on this pair (“College Grey” mudguard, white leather foundation and only a pop of red in the midsole) likely places this closer to pairs like the “Alternate ‘89” or friends and family Jordan 4 SB that’s made the rounds in the opening half of 2025. A “Sail” swatch anchoring the shoe at the very bottom serves as the biggest divergence from previous looks, allowing this edition to put some distance between itself and the larger catalog.
Regardless of where you place this shoe’s DNA, it’s as eminently stylable as any of its forebears. Look for the Air Jordan 4 RM “Fire Red” hitting shelves in the coming weeks as a part of the Jumpman’s Q2/Q3 offerings, retailing for $150.
