Partially due to a NBHD-centric release cadence, you may not immediately think of the Air Jordan 2/3 when it comes to 2024 Jumpman innovations, but it’s been a familiar face on our end since that Summer introduction. Attempting to “salvage” a long-time black sheep of the core retro family but switching to the Air Jordan 3 sole unit, the model has largely kept to simplistic colorways in its first year and change on the shelves, unchanged as it slips into simplistic black and pink.
The impulse with any hybrid out of Beaverton is to link back to already released nodes when analyzing new looks. Yet neither of the silhouette’s parents have any colorways that particularly strike home for this edition. Instead, this shoe pushes into new chromatic territory while still maintaining a classic atmosphere, utilizing the tone-on-black formula that’s been a part of Jordan Brand’s register for years with pink piping, branding, heel details, and outsole accents. It’s only one of two darkened looks we’ve caught from the model to date, so perhaps this off-speed pitch can propel this colorway to greater heights.
As has been the case for preceding pairs, the Air Jordan 2/3 in black and pink will likely surface via retail partners before a wider Nike.com drop. A launch in Summer 2025 is most likely, carrying a $160 MSRP in men’s sizing. Keep our Jordan Release Dates hub within reach for direct pick-up links upon arrival.
