GATs are back... and they're delicious.

Hit The Chip Shop In The END. Clothing x adidas BW Army

Fish and chips, anyone? For its latest collaboration with the Three Stripes, Newcastle retailer END. Clothing is reeling in an adidas BW Army inspired by Britain’s most beloved casual cuisine.

As you’d expect from a retailer celebrating its 20th anniversary, END. knows how to make a quality collaboration. The “Chip Shop” BW Army features subtle yet meaningful qualities inspired by a relevant local reference, not to mention the kind of special packaging collectors hold dear. Moveover, the project helps resurrect the BW Army (aka the adidas GATs) following a relatively dormant stretch. The original German Army Trainer was created for the West German forces in the 1970s and has myriad dupes, namely Maison Margiela’s Replica Sneaker.

Back to the “Chip Shop” BW Army, focus lies entirely on a series of texture swaps. Scaly white leather makes up the midfoot overlay, complemented by fluffy laces reminiscent of fishing nets. While the BW Army traditionally features a slim leather tongue, END. clocks in with a more padded version featuring terry cloth lining. In tying in with the special packaging, the insoles feature ketchup-inspired graphics atop a collage of articles about past END. x adidas collaborations.

The END. Clothing x adidas BW Army “Chip Shop” drops via END. Launches on April 11th and END. statement stores on April 18th, retailing for $140. Tap here to get your entry in.
