Updated June 4th, 2025: Detailed in-hand images of the Kobe Nike Air Force 1 Low have surfaced, bringing with it serious insight into the design. The oversized 8 logos actually do spread across both shoes, Kobe’s signature replaces typical Air text on the midsole, and the underfoot traction, usually a collage of stars, is instead replaced by mini Sheath logos.
Inspired by a photo of Bryant practicing in pajama pants as he recovered from a broken hand, this shoe spotlights that moment with wide checkered laces and the purple/soft yellow combination seen in his garb that day. If you’re skeptical that this is indeed the reference point, look inside: a graphic depiction of it is split across the insoles, additionally where we see drop-in ReactX foam adapted from more traditional Protro releases.
Shelf Life, the store who provides these updated looks, reports a June 6th date for their release, but do note that the retailer has a history of far-in-advance releases. A wider drop via SNKRS and other outlets will likely come further down the road.

The scope of Kobe Bryant shoes is no longer limited to his signature line. Bruce Kilgore’s Nike Air Force 1, first associated with Kobe during a legendary pick-up game at Rucker Park in 2002, is proving to be a go-to vessel for the expansion of the Mamba brand. Following two Kobe Bryant Nike Air Force 1s in 2024, we’ve uncovered three more (so far) rolling out in 2025.
Recently revealed by Vanessa Bryant, this “Soft Yellow” colorway stands out with giant jersey numbers in place of backtabs. The left shoe comes with “8” over the heel, and while not shown in Vanessa’s teaser image, the right probably features “24.” A purple Kobe Bryant signature appears in place of “AIR” on the midsole, matched by a purple outsole and purple edges on all the upper paneling. Ultra-thick greyscale laces add intrigue, complemented by tongue tags featuring the Mamba logo.
This is one of three Kobe Air Force 1s expected to land in 2025, joined by a snakeskin “Lenticular” colorway and “Linen/University Blue” pair supposedly inspired by the Lakers’ Minneapolis origins.
No release date for the “Soft Yellow” Kobe Air Force 1 has been announced at the time of this writing, but context clues point to a Summer 2025 arrival (meaning between April-June). Stick with us for updates over the coming months, including official images.
