The Air Jordan 4 RM Tackles “Platinum Violet”

Can the Air Jordan 4 RM go back to back? 2024 was a banner debut year, releasing to pretty wide appeal in a reversal of how typical takedown Jordans are received. There’s no question that enlisting Nigel Sylvester for the shoe’s initial release helped it to that, so if the “RestoMod” is able to do what few hybrids have done before it, it’ll be entirely on its own accord. Part of Beaverton’s strategy in tackling that has been honing in on pastel editions, a well they’re revisiting with the Air Jordan 4 RM “Platinum Violet.”

By combining multiple shades of pink with monochrome anchoring on the sole and at the sock-liner, the shoe also capitalizes on a more well-established design theme: gesturing towards colorways from the Air Jordan 4 proper. Though there are slight changes, it’s the “Orchid” which comes to mind for us here. Even if you don’t subscribe to the similarities between that shoe and the shoe at hand, there’s still plenty of seasonal appeal, with the differing shades of rosy hues coating the upper made easier worn by the grounded tonality coursing through the profile as trim.
