Even though his name might not be attached, Kiko Kostadinov’s influence looms large over the ASICS GEL-Nimbus 10.1. Introduced in 2024, the hybrid sportstyle model speaks to a similar design philosophy by blending archival influences with more modern qualities. The ties between Kiko and the GEL-Nimbus 10.1 are felt particularly on this “Lemon Spark” colorway, perhaps evoking memories of the Bulgarian designer’s “Limeade” GEL-Burz from 2018.
Sparing no punch when it comes to making a statement, the titular “Lemon Spark” hue covers almost the entire silhouette. The quarter detailing, heel, and outsole provide a bit of a break in “Kelp” green, as do subtle flashes of blue on the eyelets and ASICS branding. Casuals are prone to mistake the GEL-Nimbus 10.1 with any other ASICS sportstyle sneaker, but it’s far from lacking on unique qualities. Off-centered eyelets can be spotted just above the toe box, and the sides feature an additional, abstract underlay. The underlays traditionally host a meander pattern, but this “Lemon Spark” colorway switches things up with diamond-patterned mesh. Moving on from the GEL-Nimbus upper half, the Nimbus 10.1 features the exact same sole as the ubiquitous GEL-Kayano 14 (a model Kiko helped re-introduce back, by the way).
The GEL-Nimbus 10.1 “Lemon Spark” is set to release Summer 2025 for $160, although no firm date has been announced at the time of this writing. See official images below if these are calling your name.
