Nike Kobe 6 Protro “3D” Releasing Spring 2026

The mismatch concept could provide next year's All-Star release.

Nike Kobe 6 Protro “3D” Releasing Spring 2026

Kobe Bryant’s eventual Oscar win cemented his bonafides in the film industry, but his standing as a Los Angeles icon made it fertile ground for his Nike output for years. While various “Hollywood Nights” inspired editions took peripheral routes to bring glitz and glamor to his signature line, the Nike Kobe 6 “3D” released in 2010 still stands as arguably the fullest embrace of the silver screen. If you’ve had this pair wishlisted in the years since its release, there’s good news: the pair will reportedly return to shelves come Spring 2026.

Though digging through the Kobe catalog is always a trip, this Kobe 6 at hand is especially a time capsule, speaking to the outsized influence that 3D films had around the turn of the 2010s. Directly pulling its colorway from the hazy, blue/red effect that resulted in a “larger than life” effect, those chromatic outlines dot both the scaly pockets in the upper and inspire mismatched branding. Hits of pop art “Chlorine Blue” and “Daring Red” alternate through the heel cup, Swoosh and Sheath logo. Letting those aspects take charge, the rest of the shoe delivers a refined, red-carpet-ready mix of “Dark Grey” and jet black.

While new entrants like the upcoming Kobe 3 project to make the conversation harder in future months, this again showcases the Kobe 6 as the current most bankable asset in the Protro arsenal. That’s obviously highlighted by the defining success of the “Grinch” colorways and the cottage industry it’s inspired (a reverse edition and cleats dropping in the following years.) Notching off the “All-Star 2.0” and an early release of the “Dodgers” Kobe 6 has further proven that there’s a healthy appetite for fresh renditions, while the bring-back of the “Italian Camo” speaks to the nostalgia angle that this colorway should tap into.

Look for the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “3D” to emerge towards the top of 2026, with the reported Spring release window placing this somewhere between January and March. Originally minted for All-Star 2011 held at the Staples Center, it’s possible that relaunching this pair will coincide with next year’s festivities.
