Gradients are a growing theme on the Nike Shox line, a break from the shoe’s original design language as all of its members begin to spread their wings a few years into the earnest retro effort. After marking off some Air Max Plus-adjacent naturalistic vistas, the Nike Shox TL shifts into a “Chocolate Raspberry” arrangement for its latest ombre outfit.

Indeed, the starting points of this colorway begin with a “Platinum Violet” tongue paired with a “Baroque Brown” heel cup and sole unit. In the synthetic space between, the branching TPU and underlying mesh sections each steadily remove the space between those two shades, further pairing dark and light on an embroidered Swoosh that sits center on the quarter.

Though it doesn’t share the clear floral inspiration nor the graphic embroidery, this pair immediately calls to mind the Nike Shox R4 “Cherry Blossom” that emerged just a few days previous. Either shoe presents more experimental, sprightly takes on the springy tech, pushing the bounds of the silhouettes beyond their Y2K origins.
