As many moneyed individuals do, James Harden boasts an incredible car collection, something that’s been on full display throughout the early days of his Harden Vol 9. Jump back to the shoe’s initial release where he announced the inaugural silver metallic with a sleek matching Ferrari, teasing he “might match [his] whip with every pair.” So far, he’s lived up to that promise, rolling out a custom car with his shoe’s fang-like Three Stripes in accordance with the “Metamorphosis” edition. For the shoe’s latest look, he’s inverting the formula; the Harden Vol 9 “Hellcat” is inspired by sports cars rather than the other way around.
Sports car enthusiasts may have caught previous breakdowns of Harden’s collection, which after our deepest of dives, doesn’t include the infamous Dodge product. However, the vehicle’s lasting black and red overtones are a clear guiding light for this design, coating the exterior shell with glossy black synthetics and pinning demonic red on the interior and outsole. Pair that with the aforementioned pointed Three Stripes branding for an earnestly villainous atmosphere.
