Jordan Brand’s 40th anniversary celebration is set to bring back a wide variety of coveted retros from multiple beloved Jordan 5 colorways to standouts like the Black Cat 4s. However, an additional arm of the year-long festivities is reinterpretations of their lineage and branding. For the Summer 2025 season, that’ll be carried out by a range of “Rare Air” editions taking over the AJ1, AJ3 and AJ4. As we count down to their arrival, official images of the Air Jordan 1 Rare Air “Deep Royal Blue” herald the collection’s earnest start.

Again, creative branding appears to be the tie that binds between this range of Summer releases, with this “Deep Royal Blue” pair taking on the theme via a “Nike Air” wings logo at the collar. These official shots also showcase red leather edges around the Swoosh, revealed by those who have gotten these in-hand to be a wear-away layer. Zooming out, the colorway almost presents almost as an inline version of Union’s OG mashup theme, carrying clear allusions to the OG “Storm Blue” and “Neutral Grey.” Additionally, the packaging sports a mismatched box lid and base a la the “Lost and Found,” delivering the usual black and red packaging up top with the bottom closer to what came with the “True Blue” from 2023.

The Air Jordan 1 Rare Air “Deep Royal Blue” releases on April 1st in men’s sizing, retailing for $180. Enjoy the full suite of official images included below and keep an eye on our Jordan Releases 2025 landing page to up your chances at grabbing this pair once it arrives.
