Are we finally beginning to witness the long reported “slowdown” of Nike Dunks? Under the leadership of former CEO John Donahoe, word was that “staple models” like Peter Moore’s design and the Air Force 1 would begin to see lower production numbers in the near future. Business as usual throughout 2024 made us question when the effects of this report would take place, but a precipitous slowdown in new looks has taken over our coverage in the past few months.
The Nike Dunk Low “Light Bone” marks one of the fresh colorways to come about since mid-February, a real departure from the constant stream we usually see. Perhaps it’s an “absence makes the heart grow fonder” proposition, as the easily-worn, accessible palette here certainly hits a bit harder without having to share the spotlight. To that end, a mix of greyscale tones including the titular “Cool Grey” takes up the most real estate on this Dunk Low, with the ever-appealing gum sole underfoot lending a bit of skate validity to the look.
As a true GR, expect the Nike Dunk Low “Light Bone” to hit Nike.com without warning rather than on a pre-ordained date. Once available, prepare for a $125 retail price.
