Up Close With The Off-White x Air Jordan 1 “Canary Yellow”

In case you missed it, sneaker collector @depeche23mode recently posted one of the most insane Jordan unboxings we’ve ever seen. The man casually showed off grail after grail from the front seat of his car, including a Purple Rain Jordan 11 made for Prince, Chris Paul “Easter Pack” 5s, and for our purposes, the Off-White x Jordan 1 “Canary Yellow.”

We’re singling out the Canary 1s because the sneaker was actually rumored to release in 2025. Those rumors were quickly shot down, and it’s since become clear that JB will release a different Off-White Jordan 1, perhaps a retro of the white “Euro” colorway, come Holiday 2025.

To the uninitiated; the Off-White x Jordan 1 “Canary Yellow” was first seen at Virgil Abloh’s “Figures Of Speech” exhibition in Chicago in 2019. It was rumored to release in 2020, but that never ended up happening. The handful of pairs in existence are samples owned by collectors with deep pockets. The deadstock pair owned by @depeche23mode is a size 8 up for sale at $75,000 (without a box).

The gallery below shows an intriguing detail that’s gone unnoticed thus far; the hangtag reads “Nike Golf,” implying some sort of crossover between Off-White and Jordan Brand’s budding golf lineup. The Canary 1s don’t feature the modified outsole JB utilizes on its various Jordan 1 Golf shoes, which makes the detail quite puzzling.

To reiterate; the Off-White x Jordan 1 “Canary Yellow” will not release in 2025. However, Jordan Brand plans to drop a different Off-White Jordan 1 during the Holiday 2025 shopping season. No concrete information about that shoe has been floated yet, but our Jordan Release Dates page will be kept current as that changes.
