BAIT And .SWOOSH Are Hosting A Live Raffle For The Air Max 1 “Big Head Origins”

Nike’s .SWOOSH initiative entered the world of low poly gaming with the Air Max 1 “Big Head Origins”, a concept ostensibly inspired by Donkey Kong Country. Ahead of the much-anticipated launch, Nike has partnered with BAIT to host a special live raffle event for the shoes on March 15th ahead of the wider SNKRS release.

Featuring some key details and ephemera from the Donkey Kong Country game, this Air Max 1 Low Poly struck the perfect nostalgic chord for old school gaming enthusiasts. While there are no direct references to the game or the N64 console, the connections are abundantly clear and the demand has grown considerably since the shoes first revealed itself in mid-February. Retro gaming seems to be a larger focus for this variant of the Air Max 1 as Nike recently dropped an Air Max 1 Low Poly “Adventure”, itself inspired by Tomb Raider.

Those who attend the event at BAIT have a chance to secure a pair ahead of the wider SNKRS launch happening later this month. Doors open at 11 AM PT and winners of the shoe raffle will be announced around 2 PM. In addition to the shoes, BAIT will have a food truck, live music, and even a Nintendo 64 gaming tournament featuring Golden Eye and Mario Kart.

Sign up for the event at BAIT here.
