LeBron James’ love for Deion Sanders’ work at Nike is no secret. While in 2024, the Air DT Max ’96 returned to shelves and James poured out some on-foot tributes in accordance, he chalked off a colorway of his LeBron 15 with homages to Deion, far before any cross-marketing opportunities were at hand. Cut to the current retro for the Air Diamond Turf and the King is issuing a public response, the Nike LeBron 21 “Prime ’93.”
You can still spot signature touches from the LeBron 21 proper intact, like the ridged midsole design and the overall shape, but the silhouette does a lot of remodeling for a precise tribute Deion Sanders shoes. The midfoot strap is the most significant new inclusion, keeping the translucent mesh at the quarter in accordance. However, new overlay panels stretch from the toe to the heel, culminating in the amoeba-like branding tag at the rear. It’s only fitting that the shoe’s most iconic colorway is also adapted, with the Falcons’ black, red, and white faithfully applied on the near-hybrid shoe.

Of course, the release for the Nike LeBron 21 “Prime ’93” does make for some unorthodox overlap between the King’s latest in the Nike LeBron 22 and the model that directly preceded it. As mentioned, however, many of his recent nods to Deion’s shoes have come on the LeBron 21 specifically, making this arguably the most sensible option in his catalog.
The Nike LeBron 21 “Diamond Turf” is expected to hit shelves in May 2025, carrying a $180 sticker price. Catch detailed retail images included below and keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates page for a more concrete date once it comes.
