Original article published March 7th, 2025:
Nike is unleashing a new Air Force 1 style featuring skate-minded enhancements in 2025, creating a middle ground between Nike SB and the brand’s Sportswear division. On the heels of a “Psychic Blue” Air Force 1 SK8 colorway, we’re continuing to unpack styles that were tipped off in October of last year.
Here we have a “Stadium Green” colorway reminiscent of Ari’s infamous “Menthol” Air Force 1 bootleg from the 2000s. The toe box and quarter appear in leather, while suede paneling makes up the rest of the upper (save for a white leather Swoosh). Some AF1 SK8 colorways feature brown gum soles, but the only apparent skate-minded quality here is thick flat laces.
Nike hasn’t officially announced the Air Force 1 SK8 yet, but it’s looking more and more like a sneaker inspired by skate aesthetics than anything else. It looks like your run-of-the-mill pair of Forces, and moreover, there aren’t any markings that call out skate-minded tooling enhancements (like Zoom Air insoles). We’re hoping for some clarity as the model approaches its Summer 2025 debut, which implies a release window between April-June.
