New Balance is thought of as the ultimate “dad shoe” brand, but its latest “Made In England” model is giving straight-up grandpa vibes. Meet the New Balance Allerdale; a new $250 walking shoe poised to factor into the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 catalog.
The model is inspired by England’s Allerdale District, which is the home of the New Balance UK factory located in the seaside village of Flimby. As with every “Made In England” sneaker, the materials are on-point. Premium leather makes up the top half, with the layering evoking retro tennis shoes like the New Balance T500. As for the tech, the Allerdale comes with Ortholite insoles and FuelCell foam underfoot; the same cushioning utilized in some of the brand’s top-tier runners.

While the model carries a steep price tag, we can’t help but be reminded of the phrase “buy cheap, buy often.” That basically means if you settle for cheap products in the short term, you’ll end up paying more over time. If you invest in quality craftsmanship that lasts a lifetime, however, your wallet will thank you in the end. Just some wise words passed down by older generations.
New Balance hasn’t announced a concrete release info for Allerdale just yet, but the shoe has already begun cropping up at select Asian retailers. Our Sneaker Release Dates page will be kept current with all the latest info as it comes in.
