Nike Air Max Plus Golf “The Player’s Championship” Features Iconic Goat Logo

Nike, Inc. ramping up their efforts around golf has taken on a new tenor in recent months, bolstering a roster of reimagined mainline shoes with some commemorative wear, often leveraging major dates on the PGA calendar to spotlight their latest product. As the Nike Air Max Plus enters the Golf ring, it’s suiting up for the “Player’s Championship,” sporting a ton of references to the upcoming tourney.

The shoe’s mission is made plain on the interior, sporting the classical logo of the PGA-owned competition on a deep royal blue insole. However, the true guiding light for this design comes in much slighter fashion. Peep the tongue, where a goat (not GOAT) emblem aligns with the pony hair heel, harkening to the original groundskeeping strategy employed on the TPC Sawgrass.

Yes, actual herds of goats tended the grounds during the off-season before being replaced by more modern means, but the caprines have persisted as a course symbol since. The Air Max Plus Golf rounds out with prestigious hits off off-white and gold, including a gilded hangtag included with each pair.

The Nike Air Max Plus Golf “The Player’s Championship” tees off on March 10th, just one day before the competition itself does. Expect a $215 retail price upon arrival.
