Matt Varga The quandary with landing a dominant model is maintaining energy around the silhouette without entirely burning it out. To their credit, ASICS has done an excellent job with the GEL-Kayano 14, showing plenty of discretion in meting out additional looks of their still red-hot tech runner.
Now emerging in a slick combination of “Silver/Teal/Gold,” the model largely pushes forward ever-reliable aesthetics, still dominated by metallic overlays and cream hexagonal open-knit. The addition of a teal Tiger Stripes logo and flares of pale orange in the exposed GEL units help add some warm-weather appeal, a fitting embrace as we get into the bulk of the Japanese brand’s offerings. Pair this and other mainline looks with four collaborations already revealed this year (Comme des Garcons, Juliana Salazar, United Arrows and ZUTOMAYO), and it’s abundantly clear that the GEL-Kayano 14 will remain a power player for another year strong.
Expect the ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 in “Silver/Teal/Gold” to hit ASICS channels this Summer, retailing at $150.
