The latest Joe Freshgoods New Balance sneaker is a love letter about his creative journey with the Boston brand. What was intended to be a single project has blossomed into a partnership that’s delivered 20 sneakers and counting; nearly all of which have been smash hits. Five years later, the “Aged Well” 992 harkens back to where it all began.
The design plays off Joe Freshgoods’ first collaboration with the Boston brand; the New Balance 992 “No Emotions Are Emotions” aka “Anatomy Of A Heart” from 2020. It was handily the most significant sneaker of NBA All-Star Weekend, and as a testament to how sought-after it is, resale prices are hovering around $3,000 at the time of this writing. While New Balance’s modern popularity spike can be attributed to a variety of factors, many regard the first Joe Freshgoods 992 as the catalyst that made such extraordinary success possible.
To put it simply; the “Aged Well” New Balance 992 looks like a naturally faded version of its predecessor. Pink and red suedes wrap an olive green mesh base, complemented by saddle brown leather on the tongue and backtab. Four sets of laces are included, and the box features special details related to the “Aged Well” nickname. Importantly, while the sneaker retailed for $220 on the Joe Freshgoods website, pairs releasing via New Balance and retailers carry a $230 MSRP.
As for the New Balance 992 itself, the new JFG collaboration kicks off a modern resurgence. After a three-year slumber, the model is returning by way of collaborations, core colorways, and more in-house designs spearheaded by NB creative director Teddy Santis. Our Sneaker Release Dates page will be kept current with all known New Balance 992s as we delve deeper into 2025.
Again; the Joe Freshgoods New Balance 992 “Aged Well” releases globally via newbalance.com and retailers on February 28th. Scroll back up to our “Where To Buy” section for our store list.
