Updated March 27th, 2025: The Slawn x Nike Air Max 90 collection, delivering opposing all-black and all-white colorways, has just been revealed via official images. On top of confirming calling card details like the pareidolic face on either heel, these new shots showcase the custom packaging for either pair, as well as showcasing the insoles, delivering a personal message that reads (in part): “Slawn, the Impact of an Enigma is in its foot prints. One step at a time Olaolu. One step at a time. Greatness to you.”

After the shoe’s initial release at a London pop-up on March 1st, the shoe is expected to re-release via Nike channels at a $160 MSRP. However, at the time of writing, a concrete date is unclear.

Original article published February 24th, 2025: Slawn has already worked alongside an imposing list of names, tapped by the likes of Virgil Abloh, Skepta, and Ksubi to bring his style into their universe. Now, he’s caught the attention of Beaverton, and his inaugural Nike collaboration tees off on March 1st with two Air Max 90 colorways at a pop-up exclusively in London.

The Slawn touch is most visible at the back of each Air Max 90, where shade-like eyes peer out from the heel tab. It’s a representation of the Nigerian-born artist’s penchant for distorting simplified faces, closest resembling his makeover of the BRIT Award in 2023 and his “Ugly Bastard” sculpture series, eventually sized up into a 13-foot bronze titan. His rough-around-the-edges aesthetic also manifests in deep texturing through each quarter panel and the contrast speckling on the toe.

The usual mudguard panel, tilting down towards the toe on mainline releases, is instead replaced with a wraparound counterpart that brings a novel reimagined flair to the classic silo. Two pronounced metallic eye-stay attachments, golden on the white pair and silver on the black, mark another hardware curveball.

The Slawn x Nike Air Max 90 capsule is currently listed at retailers for a March 1st release, either colorway retailing at $160.
